Markham chiropractic care
Individualized adjustment and mobilization options selected for your health, comfort and movement goals.
Individualized spinal care
Spinal adjustments use a controlled movement directed at a joint. The amount of force, position and technique can vary, and adjustment is only one possible part of conservative care.
Before recommending treatment, we review your symptoms, health history, medications and movement. We explain the options, expected benefits, possible risks and alternatives so you can make an informed decision.

One tool within a broader plan
Depending on your needs, care may also include gentler mobilization, education, exercise and changes to daily activity. We use the least intensive appropriate option and adjust the plan according to your response.

Common questions
Spinal adjustment is not appropriate for every person or every condition. A thorough history and examination are essential before deciding whether to proceed.
No. The appropriate approach depends on your assessment, preferences and response. Education, exercise, mobilization or referral may be more suitable in some situations.
The sound is generally associated with a pressure change and gas movement within a joint. A sound is not required for treatment to be useful, and its presence does not measure the quality of an adjustment.
Temporary soreness, stiffness or increased discomfort can occur. Serious complications have been reported but are rare. Your health history and risk factors should be screened, and the potential benefits, risks and alternatives discussed before care.
Not routinely. Imaging is considered when your history or examination suggests it may change care, identify a concern or support referral. Existing imaging and reports should be shared with your provider.
