A practical approach to posture

Feel more comfortable without chasing perfect posture.

Posture is not a single position you need to hold all day. Comfort can change with time, workload, movement, sleep, stress and the demands of your environment.

Lifestyle and posture counseling looks at how those factors work together. Your assessment can include the way you sit, stand, lift, work, drive, sleep and move—followed by realistic recommendations that fit your body and routine.

More than sitting up straight

The goal is adaptable movement—not one perfect position.

Even a well-arranged workstation can become uncomfortable when your body stays still for too long. We focus on supported positions, regular movement and practical strategies you can continue outside the clinic.

  • Adjust your setup to fit your body and the task
  • Build more position changes into your day
  • Use mobility and strength exercises with a clear purpose
  • Choose changes that are realistic enough to maintain

Posture and lifestyle topics

Support for the places and routines that shape your day.

Your recommendations may draw from one or several of these areas. Each topic is being structured to support a dedicated information page as the resource library grows.

What your care can look like

A plan built for your body, environment and everyday demands.

Understand your day

We discuss where symptoms show up, what your day requires and which activities matter most to you.

Assess movement and setup

Your visit may include posture, mobility, strength and task-specific checks based on your concerns.

Make practical changes

We prioritize manageable adjustments to your environment, habits and movement instead of changing everything at once.

Build lasting capacity

Exercises and progressions help you rely on more than reminders to simply sit or stand straighter.

Common questions

Helpful context before your visit.

Your assessment and recommendations will always depend on your health history, symptoms and goals.

Is there one correct posture I should maintain? +

There is no single posture that suits every person or remains comfortable indefinitely. A supportive setup matters, but changing position and moving regularly are also important. Your recommendations should reflect your body, task and symptoms.

Do I need to buy a new chair or standing desk? +

Not necessarily. We can first look at the equipment you already have, how it is adjusted and how long you stay in one position. Small changes may be enough, while some situations benefit from different equipment.

Can posture counseling help with desk-related neck or back discomfort? +

It may help identify workstation, movement and workload factors that contribute to discomfort. Persistent, worsening or unusual symptoms still require an individual assessment to determine what care is appropriate.

What should I bring to an assessment? +

Bring details about when symptoms occur and the tasks that affect them. Photos or measurements of your workstation, information about your chair or equipment, and relevant health records can also be useful.
